Dr. Imran Ali

Dr Ali qualified from Liverpool dental school in 2001 and has spent his time in clinical practice since then, 8 years of which have been at this practice. He has undergone several training courses ranging from sedation, oral surgery, smile design and has been certified as a clearstep orthodontic practitioner. He has a special interest in cosmetic dentistry and is committed to ensuring patients achieve their ideal smile. He is hoping to further develop his skills to enable his is practice in facial aesthetics. He has developed a reputation of delivering the most aesthetic dentistry in the kindest possible way. He is a very family oriented man, and enjoys spending his free time at home with his young family.

Dr. Helen McIver

Dr Helen McIver qualified at The University of Liverpool in 2006 and has worked at Malmin since 2010. She has completed her MJDF qualification so is now a member of the Royal College of Surgeons.

She enjoys all aspects of dentistry and has particular interests in cosmetic dentistry and facial aesthetics. She has completed two year long postgraduate courses in restorative and cosmetic dentistry along with continuing to attend several courses covering numerous aspects of dentistry.

Dr McIver offers facial aesthetic treatments, including botulinum toxin (BOTOX ®) and dermal fillers and is happy to chat through the products and procedures with new patients to provide as much information as possible on what can be a daunting yet exciting prospect. She also offers the Inman Aligner at Malmin, which is one of only a few places in Manchester to offer this orthodontic appliance. This is a removable appliance which straightens teeth in as short as six weeks.

Helen believes in honest, gentle dentistry and treats all patients as if they were her own family. She works in a very friendly manner, will always try to put patients at ease and has gained a great reputation for working well with anxious patients.

In her spare time she enjoys running, travelling and enjoying life in Manchester.

Dr. Konstatinos Kaifas

Dr Kaifas qualified in Athens in 2003. He has been working at Malmin for 1 year. He has a keen interest in cosmetic dentistry and has a reputation on delivery treatment in a professional yet personal way. He has recently gotten married (sorry ladies) and loves to spend time with his new wife.

Dr. Sin Yong BDS, MFDS RCSEd, MPhil

Mr Sin Yong qualified from The University of London in 1998, and worked at the University Dental Hospital of Manchester as a House Officer. He then decided to move into the field of Surgical Dentistry, where he acquired his surgical training as a Senior House Officer and Clinical Assistant in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.

He attained Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (MFDS RCS) in 2001, and completed his Master of Philosophy (MPhil) in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery from the University of Manchester in 2004.

He is currently a PhD student with a research study to examine postoperative pain relief following oral surgery.

His special interest is in Surgical Dentistry and Conscious Sedation. Mr Yong has been working as a Clinical Assistant in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery since 2002. He is also a Senior Clinical Teaching Fellow for The University of Manchester in Control of Pain and Anxiety.

Dr. Marco Esposito DDS, PhD

Marco graduated with honours in Dentistry at the University of Pavia, Italy in 1990. He was awarded a PhD in Biomaterials from Göteborg University in 1999.

Previously he has worked as Guest Researcher at NIOM (Scandinavian Institute of Dental Materials), Haslum, Norway and as Associate Professor in Biomaterials at Göteborg University, Sweden. Currently Marco is Senior Lecturer in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Director of the Postgraduate Dental courses in Dental Implantology (MSC, Diploma and Certficate) at the School of Dentistry, University of Manchester.

He is the Editor of the Cochrane Oral Health Group, and is also Editor-in-Chief of the European Journal of Oral Implantology.

Marco has authored more than 80 scientific publications (both clinical research / trials and systematic reviews) in international peer-reviewed journals.

Dr. Stephen Cawte

Speciality: Endodontics

Dr Cawte qualified from the University of Edinburgh in 1988. After graduating he was commissioned into the Royal Army Dental Corps and served in the UK and overseas. Seven years later, on completion of his commission, he graduated with an MSc in Conservative Dentistry from the University of Manchester and spent several years working in both private and NHS practices and at the Turner Dental School in Manchester.

He then became a resident SHO in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery with East Lancashire Maxillofacial Service and after two and a half years in this post he accepted the position of Staff Grade in Restorative Dentistry and Oral Surgery at the Charles Clifford Dental Hospital in Sheffield.

On completion of a three year full-time monospecialty training programme (endodontics) at the Eastman Dental Instiitute in London he began work at several practices in London and he also teaches at the University of Central Lancashire.

He is registered as a Specialist in Endodontics with the General Dental Council and is a council member and honorary treasurer of the British Endodontic Society.

Rachael Lumley Harvatt

Rachael qualified with the certificate in dental hygiene in 1984. She is an amazing asset to the practice and continually provides patients with a high level of care. She takes her continuing professional development very seriously. In her spare time she enjoys reading, good coffee and spending time with her family.
